Samantha Ivey attended St. Cloud State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree before earning her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. For over 5 years, Samantha has represented clients in a variety of Family Law matters.
After graduating law school Samantha began her career as an Associate Attorney at a local Family Law firm. There she served as lead counsel at numerous trials and family court proceedings, including Initial Conferences, Pre-Trial Hearings, Review Hearings, and Contempt Hearings.
Prior to joining Atticus Family Law, Samantha led the Family Law Practice Group at a Twin Cities general practice firm. During her time there she handled a large caseload while also managing the staff and administrative tasks of the Practice Group. She has successfully represented clients through the completion of their family law cases and in court.
Samantha is a savvy, driven attorney who guides her clients with compassion and empathy. She takes a pragmatic approach to her work and boldly stands up for her clients. She is a skilled negotiator who uses her training and experience as a former Rule 114 qualified mediator to achieve the best possible resolution for her clients. Throughout her career, she has gained experience working with intricate cases that include cross-cultural negotiations and neuro-divergent diagnoses.
Samantha is an active practicing Catholic and an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. She is active in both the Ramsey County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity where she also serves as a Mock Trial Coach and Judge. She has a passion for public speaking and has led multiple seminars on Public Speaking in the Courtroom and Strategic Planning and Organizational Leadership. Samantha was recognized as a North Star Lawyer in the May/June 2022 Bench & Bar Magazine for generously donating her time to help low-income Minnesotans afford counsel.
